Katherine Heekin

Katherine Heekin helps professionals, executives and small businesses recover from abuse and misuse of power, particularly in cases involving fraud, business divorce, professional liability and corporate governance. Throughout her life, she’s been the voice for those who know something is not right, yet are reluctant to speak up.

Katherine is also a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, identified as the “premier financial sleuthing organization” by The Wall Street Journal. She has extensive experience in electronic evidence management techniques and technologies, including insight into the ways digital evidence is created, altered, stored, deleted and hidden. Katherine is an AV-rated lawyer, selected as a SuperLawyer by her peers, honored as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in Oregon, and a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Oregon School of Law.

Fearless and driven, Katherine excelled in sports and academics in school and was recruited to play softball at Princeton. Twice benefitting from Title IX, first as an athlete and then by attending law school, she knows first-hand how the law can make life better. With a love of competition and the ambition to never be second best, Katherine is a natural leader. First as a catcher in softball and a point guard in basketball, and today as the firm’s namesake, she brings tenacious energy, strategic vision and unwavering drive toward victory.

Katherine is not one to rest on her laurels. Whether it’s running the Hood to Coast relay race, hiking the Camino del Norte in Spain, or training a golden retriever puppy as a service dog, Katherine is constantly tackling life’s next challenge. While she may not find herself positioned behind home plate as often these days, the lessons Katherine learned as a catcher are a guiding force in and out of the courtroom: plant your feet, block the plate, make the catch, get the tag, take the hit, land in the dirt, never let go of the ball, then stand up and smile because it is pure joy to do what you love and share it with others.

Working with Katherine was like sitting down with a friend to figure out a solution to a problem. She was interested in the case, my goals and what was important to our business. I was very satisfied.
