Technology
We successfully oppose larger firms by using knowledge management, process management, and technology wherever possible to cut costs and achieve better results.
Software to Optimize Knowledge Management
Lawyers are knowledge workers; we use unique knowledge to advance or protect our client's interests in the community and the marketplace. We use case management software (ProLaw) and litigation support databases (Summation and CaseMap) to organize, store, and retrieve contacts, events, deadlines, parties, witnesses, experts, client documents, documents produced in discovery, emails and other electronic evidence, legal research, billing information, and accounting data. The benefit to you is you don't have to wait while we look for the file; everything we need to answer your questions and advise you is at our fingertips.
In addition, when we prepare for depositions and trial, we don't need an army of people to find the documents to use as exhibits or the testimony to use on cross-examination. Instead, we run electronic searches to retrieve what we need rapidly at a fraction of the cost. We don't reinvent the wheel either. We use standard formats for redundant tasks, such as subpoenas and deposition notices, and mine our databases for similar claims, defenses, and work product used in other cases, which we then tailor to fit your situation if possible.
Process Management in eDiscovery
We are knowledgeable about and experienced with various kinds of software and tools available for preserving, collecting, filtering, and reviewing electronic evidence. We use process management techniques to distinguish between Tier 1 and Tier 2 discovery, determine the best form of production, e.g. TIFF, PDF, or native file, and keep costs in line. We engage top-flight computer forensic experts and electronic discovery service providers, who share our cost-consciousness, to assist with data preservation, collection, and processing. We use protocols to protect the evidence's integrity and authenticity. We are able to host the information on-line or view it internally in our litigation support databases.
Seeing is Believing
We recognize that seeing and hearing a story has more impact than just reading it. That's why we use graphics software, timeline software, trial presentation software, and videotaped depositions at hearings, in arbitrations, and in trial.
