Conducted internal investigation and represented factoring company in claims to recover under commercial crime and employee dishonesty bond policies. Recovered policy limits greater than $1 million.

Canada Life Ins. Co. et al v. Grant Thornton, LLP, et al

Multnomah County Circuit Court (Oregon)

Represented insurance companies in an accounting malpractice claim against auditors for over $8 million in damages. Claim arose from fraud involving structured finance. Court granted motion for order compelling defendants to produce electronic files in original (native) format and the proprietary software needed to view the files.

Buyers v. Seller

Arbitration Service of Portland, Multnomah County (Oregon)

Represented homeowners in claims for fraud, breach of contract, and breach of the implied duty of good faith and fair dealing against seller. Arbitration resulted in plaintiffs' verdict and attorney's fees and costs.

West Star Construction, Inc. v. BRE Builders, Inc. and BRE Properties, Inc.

King County Circuit Court (Washington)

Represented framing subcontractor in breach of contract, breach of the implied duty of good faith and fair dealing, and fraud claims for over $500,000 in damages against general contractor and Fortune 500 real estate investment trust. Settled.

First National Bank of Omaha and U.S. Bank National Assn. v. Clifton Gunderson, LLP

Clay County Circuit Court (Missouri)

Represented banks in accounting malpractice claim for $23 million against regional accounting firm arising from large-scale cattle fraud. Settled.

Larson v. Lewis, et al

U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon

Represented former officer of Fortune 500 company against securities fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims arising out of alleged backdating of stock options. Dismissed.

Graham v. Trullinger, et al

Multnomah County Circuit Court (Oregon)

Represented investment capital fund against claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty brought by entrepreneur. Brought counterclaims for breach of fiduciary duty, negligent misrepresentation, and fraudulent misrepresentation. Settled.

Jackson County Circuit Court (Oregon)

Represented stockbroker against ORICO, civil conspiracy, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and indemnity claims. Dismissed.
